About the Role Base Location: Great Island Power Station, Co. Wexford Salary: €66,000 - €90,000 (This includes a local allowance of 25%) + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time| Flexible First options available We have an exciting opportunity for a Rotating Plant Engineer to join our team at Great Island Power Station. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, professional engineering service for rotating plant and ancillary equipment that ensures the safety, reliability, flexibility and efficiency of plant and equipment is maintained to meet the Company's requirements. A key member of the Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to the short and long term station strategy including an input to the station business plan. Main tasks and responsibilities are: - Understanding and strategic management of the asset integrity of the station rotating plant assets and ancillary services. - Establish and deliver a proactive maintenance strategy with the associated resource planning, budgeting and contractor management for the station rotating plant assets and ancillary services. - Delivery of projects in alignment with the SSE and station strategies including financial justification preparation, specification, procurement, implementation and commissioning. - Any other tasks and projects as may be directed by the Engineering Manager. What do I need? - Degree level or equivalent qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline, supported by at previous experience of Power Station/process plant engineering or maintenance. - Comprehensive understanding of plant and equipment within the remit of the role. - Competent in the use of maintenance management systems for work management and procurement. - Constructively challenges traditional thought processes outside the normal parameters and considers different solutions. - Ability to actively seek best practice and opportunities from outside the station/company and applies them.
