Job Description

Our Client, is a leading Construction and Materials group based both in Ireland and the UK, They are currently expanding their team for their site in Westmeath and are now looking to hire a Mechanical Fitter. The role involves executing corrective, planned, and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment and plant. Job Responsibilities: Perform corrective, planned, and preventive maintenance tasks, including welding, fabrication, alignments, and troubleshooting. Ensure a Right first time approach to all tasks, maintaining high-quality standards. Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to safe work systems. Monitor equipment performance and maintain production levels, considering quality, safety, and engineering standards. Complete and close out work orders in a timely manner. Participate in a callout rota as part of the maintenance team and work overtime as required. Propose and implement improvements to current work practices. Job Requirements: A Mechanical Fitting or Mechanical Automation Level 6 qualification. Minimum of 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a fixed-plant environment, preferably within heavy engineering. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Positive attitude, high work standards, and the ability to work well under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively as part of a team.
