Job Description

Our client, a top Irish mechanical engineering organisation, seeks a Quantity Surveyor with mechanical experience for a full-time role in Dublin, with occasional travel.

Key duties include:

  • Preparing cost analyses based on architectural drawings, engineering estimates, and labour requirements.
  • Developing cost plans for design teams, involving liaison with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Creating tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Evaluating tenders and negotiating with contractors, as necessary.
  • Controlling project stages within predetermined budgets and expenditures.
  • Monitoring project progress and measuring variations in work during the contract.
  • Working with the design team to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Maintaining relationships with client representatives to support company activities.
  • Representing the company at site meetings and other events.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience with a proven track record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong financial and numeracy management skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • A clear understanding of building regulations and legal guidelines.
