Job Description Summary: The duties of this position include but are not limited to accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. The position utilizes automation and computerization, as well as manual methods. Responsibilities include quality control and instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The position may involve teaching and training, but not in a leadership role. It handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid, and other body fluids, which may be contaminated with infectious diseases, including HIV and other blood-borne pathogens. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Required) from an accredited institution. ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology certification is required. A four-year Bachelor of Science Degree is necessary. AMT Certification is considered equivalent to ASCP. Completion of all required coursework for a Bachelor’s degree and completion of ASCP Certification is also acceptable. Superior customer service skills and experience in an automated clinical laboratory are essential.
