Job Description:
The Senior Laboratory Supervisor for Microbiology is responsible for the Microbiological testing of finished goods and implementation of the Microbiological Environmental Monitoring Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the disposition of products and their component materials through timely release of complete and accurate test results
- Ensures complete documentation of test records for all materials tested
- Maintains laboratory compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provides laboratory support to production, research and development, and engineering
- Writes laboratory procedures, testing instructions, and operating procedures
- Approves specifications and testing instructions
- Leads in selection, hiring, training, termination, promotion, demotion, or placement of employees
- Assures training and development of subordinates
- Maintains a safe working environment for all personnel
- Assists in meeting division production objectives within planned budgets
Requirements:
- National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline
- 4+ years of related work experience
- Strong human relations skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret laboratory data and identify problem areas requiring corrective action plans
