Microsoft Data Engineer Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring a Microsoft Data Engineer to work as part of the Data Support team. The role will involve use of: SQL, T-SQL, MS SQL Server, ETL (currently SSIS, transitioning to Python), PowerBI, SSRS, Azure DevOps GIT. Opportunity type: Contract (6 months initially), Fully remote, Dublin Target start date: ASAP Requirements: Candidate must have 2 to 4 years experience as a Microsoft Data Engineer with excellent SQL coding skills. Fluent in English. Previous experience on a range of client-facing consultancy projects, preferably in both the private and public sectors. Absolutely essential: SQL scripting (T-SQL in particular) Worked in an agile environment has experience using GIT Has worked with MS SQL Server preferably in a Datawarehouse environment Essential: Database and data warehouses Microsoft SQL Server. Experience with ETL and reporting. Experience writing SQL scripts (including stored procedures and writing or automating batch jobs) OR experience writing scripts using T-SQL for data analysis. Experience creating ETL workflows or scripts for ETL purposes with technology such as SSIS and Python. Experience writing and supporting reports using software such as SSRS, Excel, PowerBI or Tableau. Experience with version control software such as GIT. Has worked in an Agile environment. Experience working in a support role with good customer service skills. Experience working with users of varying technical abilities to translate requests to actuality. High attention to detail in dealing with data privacy in a highly regulated environment. Responsibilities: The role will primarily involve BAU work on the Data Support team and assisting with ad-hoc SQL and T-SQL queries. Learn about data and regulations in a highly-regulated environment. Translate clients requests into technical needs and implement the required SQL code. Access, manage, modify and organize data using SQL to fulfil the clients request. Produce ETL flows using SSIS or Python. Ensure proper version control using GIT. Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and also work independently (with limited supervision). Interact with clients predominantly at the working level.
