Mushroom Farm Manager
The position oversees all aspects of mushroom production, ensuring efficient and high-quality output, with a strong focus on team management, process optimization, and regulatory compliance.
Our client is one of the largest mushroom growers in the world, and this role will play a key part in driving continuous improvement in mushroom cultivation practices. The Mushroom Farm Manager will oversee the growing team, optimize production processes, maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement in mushroom cultivation practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand
- Supervise and coordinate activities of mushroom growers and other production staff
- Monitor and analyze production metrics to ensure efficiency and quality
- Manage inventory of raw materials, spawn, and other supplies
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality
- Train and mentor production staff, providing guidance and support
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with other departments such as procurement, sales, and distribution to ensure smooth operations
- Prepare reports on production performance and present to senior management
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, agribusiness, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mushroom cultivation or similar agricultural production management
- Strong knowledge of mushroom growing techniques and environmental control systems
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive decision-making
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to food production and safety
