A fantastic new opportunity has just gone live with a key client of ours here at Morgan Mckinley.

The role of National Fleet Manager is a key cog in the operations of one of Irelands largest state owned service providers.


Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the National Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management, administration, and maintenance of my clients Final Mile Delivery Fleet, along with related equipment and suppliers.

Working as part of a team, the National Fleet Manager supports the Final Mile delivery and collections operations by managing and maintaining a diverse fleet of motor vehicles.

Additionally, the National Fleet Manager collaborates with suppliers to consistently identify the most effective and efficient solutions to meet the evolving needs of the business.


The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the motor industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.

They should have the relevant technical knowledge, management experience, and/or qualifications.

A strong track record in system and process implementation, coupled with the ability to leverage data-driven insights to enhance efficiency and performance, is essential.

Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills and have a proven background in leading significant change initiatives.

This is a full time permanent position and it is a hybrid role offering two working days from home.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, Road Traffic Acts, and company policies.
  • Lead the Transport Administration Manager and teams for efficient office operations.
  • Utilize data and insights to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Final Mile fleet.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to compliantly acquire vehicles, equipment, and services.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee vehicle specifications and fleet maintenance within budget.
  • Manage and develop a team of four Regional Transport Managers.
  • Actively assess and manage costs to maintain fleet standards.
  • Drive system and process implementations and change initiatives.
  • Prepare and present monthly KPI reports.
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
