Firewall Security Engineer Job Description
Seeking a skilled Firewall Security Engineer to govern, manage, and review Firewall operations within the Infrastructure Operations team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing Firewall estate operations, governance, and control
- Working with vendors to ensure estate currency and vulnerability remediation
- Overseeing changes to Firewall hardware
- Identifying and logging/remediation of Risk in line with BOI Risk Management process
- Reviewing requests for change and translating business requirements into technical specifications
- Analysing, documenting, and certifying the current Firewall rule base
- Ensuring pre-existing rules align with updated BOI Security Standards
- Developing and monitoring operational metrics
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of Enterprise Network infrastructure
- Experience operating multi-vendor FW technologies
- Administration experience of FW compliance tooling
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical language
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, inspire change, and manage on one's own initiative
