Role Overview

Applegreen, a leading convenience roadside retailer, is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join its IT Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, high security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and manage network architectures, including subnetting, routing, and switching across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Provide network support for a distributed multi-site WAN while working with a 3rd party MSP.
• Set up and manage VPN solutions for secure remote access to corporate resources, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Build and manage Azure virtual environments, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Virtual Machines (VMs), Network Security Groups (NSGs), and related Azure services.
• Configure and manage Barracuda Firewalls for network security and set up Web Application Firewalls to protect cloud-based applications.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for mobile device usage.
• Monitor network security, identify vulnerabilities, and implement necessary security measures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, maintaining a secure and reliable network environment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving network-related issues promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of experience in networking and cloud infrastructure, specifically with Cisco and Azure.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including subnetting, routing, and switching.
• Experience with VPN setup and configuration.
• Proficiency with Cisco network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Hands-on experience in building and managing Azure virtual environments, including Network Security Groups (NSGs) and Virtual Machines (VMs).
• Experience with Barracuda Firewalls and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
• Strong knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
