Job Description

Key Purpose: Based in Dublin and dealing daily with our clients office in Asia, you will proactively provide technical support to the team to support the companys new product development targets. Reporting to the Head of Product, you will work in partnership with the Quality Control, Technical, Marketing, Sales and Purchasing teams to ensure new products launched under the brand worldwide meet the required specification Key Responsibilities and Duties: Provide technical advice and support to the New product team on all product projects - New Products, Product Change, RD&I projects. Fully responsible for new product technical information - fully understand a products specification able to see how it fits into existing range. Evaluate and test product samples to ensure wiring, installation, circuitry etc is installer friendly. Communicate quickly and effectively with our colleagues in our China office, providing feedback and suggestions on product development, constantly pushing projects forward and working within project deadlines. Manage the technical files and supporting documents for NPD projects ensuring they are accurate and complete. Review supplier emails to spot opportunities to broaden the range. Manage process around initial test reports and provide feedback to QC team. Conduct market research and feedback on market requirements, meet with electrical contractors to gain insights into product installation and market trends. Be responsible for gathering and proofing data for catalogues. Answer Technical queries on new product launches. Role requires travelling to the UK for training and conducting market research and will also require travelling to China to visit manufactures with trips lasting 5-7 days. Systems used in development: SAP, SharePoint, Excel, Microsoft Planner. Key Skills and Competencies: Technical graduate (Electrical / Electronics/Engineering). Electrical experience with strong technical aptitude. Previous LED lighting experience would be desirable, but not essential. Ability to work to own initiative and taking full responsibility for a project. Excellent planning and organisation skills. Very strong attention to detail Multi-tasker, ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. Strong willed, confident, problem solver. Clear, concise communicator. Achievement orientated and has a real passion for quality, demonstrating this in your working practices. Good people skills with proven ability to develop relationships throughout the company and supplier base. Fully proficient in all Microsoft Office packages. Fluent English, spoken and written.
