Job Description

Assemble electrical switchgear and electromechanical equipment to engineering drawings and production timescales, ensuring quality standards are maintained in the factory and at customer premises.

This role involves working from drawings, manuals, and schematics to assemble electrical panels, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper connections. You'll work efficiently, adhere to safety standards, and collaborate with engineers and other professionals in the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assembling electrical switchgear and electromechanical equipment to engineering drawings and production timescales
  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained in the factory and at customer premises
  • Working from drawings, manuals, and schematics to assemble electrical panels
  • Troubleshooting issues and ensuring proper connections
  • Collaborating with engineers and other professionals in the manufacturing process
  • Performing mechanical and electrical maintenance work and site modifications
  • Completing testing of panels, including current injection
  • Thermal imaging inspections and report writing

Essential experience and qualifications include:

  • Strong technical skills in wiring and assembling electrical panels
  • Ability to follow schematic diagrams accurately
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable experience and qualifications include:

  • Electrical knowledge and mechanical skills
  • Experience of electrical switchgear manufacture or similar
  • Experience of on-field service work or onsite installations
  • Familiarity with risk assessments and method statements

We're looking for someone who can work independently with minimal supervision, has a positive attitude, and is flexible with overtime as required. The successful candidate will be able to mentor and develop team members, apply good workmanship, and ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
