Job Description
Summary: NOC Engineer role involves monitoring and managing network infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and collaborating with teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
National Broadband Ireland is seeking a skilled NOC Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the Network Operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing the day-to-day operation of NBI's network infrastructure, ensuring that events are handled appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Liaise with customer operations and customers to resolve enquiries and complaints.
- Provide technical support and investigation to reported issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Track faults and follow through to resolution.
- Maintain and manage maintenance schedules for NBI network.
- Analyse network data to identify trends and prevent problems.
- Remote acceptance of new network elements into the network.
- Manage incident tracking and escalation, and complete root cause analysis.
- Control network access and ensure adherence to key network management processes.
- Manage performance of 3rd party contractors.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT to ensure quality documentation and performance measurement.
- Contribute to a team culture of excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 3rd level qualification in engineering, IT, physics, or similar.
- 3+ years' experience in a telecom or IT operations environment.
- Excellent understanding of telecom and IP networking.
- Excellent attention to detail and written/oral communication skills.
- Excellent relationship skills and analytical/problem-solving skills.
- ITIL V4 Foundation Certified.
