Expressions of interest are being sought for the position of Director/Board Member by North Wall Community Development Project CLG. NWCDP is situated within the North East Inner City (NEIC) area & is based in Lower Sheriff Street, Dublin 1. Would you like to become a member of our Board of Directors? If you are passionate about using your skills and experience to contribute to an organisation like ours, we would love to hear from you. We are particularly interested in speaking to candidates. We are currently seeking: Chairperson (who is also a director) Director with expertise in Finance Brief Overview of NWCDP The NWCDP, formerly the North Wall Women’s Centre, NWWC, was established in 1985 by a group of local women. Over the years the Centre recognised that its central message needed to be communicated to the broader community if the Centre is to provide a global perspective on women’s issues, child welfare, social exclusion and facilitate interagency solutions rather than focus on single-issue perspectives and single-agency solutions. In 2007 the Centre was awarded CDP status and funding was provided to further develop the centre and community through additional employees and a broader remit. Following much debate and consultation, the goals of the centre were re-defined, the key objectives of the Centre were re-visited and a framework for achieving best practice in the delivery of the services of the NWCDP was put in place. The activities of the NWCDP include but are not limited to: Local Training Initiative Training and Education Community Development Community Employment Little Treasures Community Early Year’s Setting We are currently in the process of finalising our new Strategic Plan and updating our Governance Handbook. Board meetings take place every month, with a commitment for sub-committee work on alternative months. Board meetings take place in Lower Sheriff Street and are currently scheduled for early morning. This is a voluntary Board of Directors. No fees will be paid to Board members.
