Part-time Nurse position for a Residential Care Home in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, with day and night shifts, an average of 12 hours a week. Flexible shift patterns and free on-site parking.

Job Description

  • Promote the health, welfare and social wellbeing of patients within our services.
  • Ensure that care is carried out in an empathetic and ethical manner and that the dignity and spiritual needs of the patient are respected.
  • Report and consult with senior nursing management on clinical issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate and accurate written nursing records and reports regarding patient care in accordance with local/national/professional guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical audits and review.
  • Undertake Key Worker role as appropriate.
  • Promote a positive health concept with patients and colleagues and contribute to health promotion and disease prevention initiatives of the Health Service Executive.
  • Delegate to and supervise the work of other grades of staff within the remit of their role, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by rotating care settings as required to meet nursing resource needs.
  • Provide and maintain effective, individualised nursing care by ensuring the resident's needs are met as fully as possible, with the most respect and dignity.
  • Ensure the residents are consulted on and participate in all aspects of their care.
  • Ensure that the care team provides excellent quality service within current legislative and policy guidelines.
  • Support the resident with individualised care plans to ensure the resident's holistic needs are met.
  • Assist the senior nurse in storing, administering, and recording individual medication in line with Convent policy and nursing guidelines.
  • Assist with any physical aspects of care, as and when required, respecting residents' dignity, privacy and integrity.
  • Ensure all complaints and incidents are recorded and reported to the Senior Nurse and Manager in accordance with the Neylons Policy.
  • Work within the Scope of Practice as issued by An Bord Altranais.

Requirements:

  • Register Nurse by An Bord Altranais.
  • A can-do attitude.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge and willingness to apply safe working practices.
  • Knowledge of how to use the equipment necessary to carry out the assigned tasks.
  • Garda vetting is required.
