Opportunity:NurseryManager Reporting to: CEO Located: Delgany, Wicklow, Full time on site Hours: 40 Hour working week, permanent position Our client is looking for a dedicated Nursery Manager, this role will hold full responsibility and accountability for the management and operation of the Creche. About the Job: The Manager will oversee the comprehensive management and delivery of a high-quality early years service, ensuring adherence to best practices in early education and care. This role involves continuously reviewing and evaluating service practices to maintain and enhance quality standards. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for the efficient financial management and operational effectiveness of the service. A key aspect of this role includes liaising with the local Childcare Committee, TuslaThe Child & Family Agency, and other relevant organisations to ensure alignment and compliance with all regulatory and organisational requirements. Operate the service within budget, managing accounts, and coordinating with the Finance Manager. Maximise funding effectiveness, complete grant applications, and manage HIVE responsibilities. Collaborate with the Finance Manager on revenue, invoicing, and ordering, while maintaining knowledge of funding schemes. Monitor costs for savings and efficiencies, ensuring timely parental fee payments and managing credit control. Provide financial and business planning data to support reporting and meetings. Develop and oversee a curriculum aligned with Aistear and Solta, ensuring it meets child development needs. Implement and monitor individualised learning and care plans, particularly for children with special needs. Serve as the Designated Child Protection Liaison, ensuring staff understand child protection responsibilities. Build strong relationships with parents, maintaining effective communication and organising regular meetings and events. Promote a Best Practice culture, ensure compliance with staffing requirements, and provide leadership to maintain professional standards. Health & Safety: Oversee hygiene, safety, and maintenance standards, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including HACCP, Fire Safety, and Child Care Act requirements. Meeting and Reporting Responsibilities: Present progress reports to the CEO, organize and document staff and planning meetings, and ensure follow-through. Policy Development: Stay informed on policy changes, ensure readiness for inspections, and maintain and update all service policies, procedures, and health and safety compliance. Essential Criteria: A level 8 Degree in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent which is approved by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth. Relevant and proven experience managing a full day early years service is essential Minimum of 5 years of experience in a childcare setting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Proven experience managing a large team of childcare professionals and support staff. Experience in the NCS, managing budgets, resources, and maintaining financial records.
