Job Description
Job Purpose: The Nursing Informatics Specialist leverages the nursing process, critical thinking, clinical workflow expertise, analytics and change management strategies to identify and facilitate the adoption of clinical information systems and digital technologies that support and improve the patient, family and clinician experience. The Nursing Informatics Specialist drives the optimal, efficient and effective use of systems as they relate to patient care, patient safety, user satisfaction, clinical productivity and quality outcomes. The post holder will act as a link between the Department of Nursing and Information Management Services to ensure that IT enabled technologies support the achievement and operationalisation of service initiatives and the strategic goals of nursing. Promoting: Quality, Safety, safeguarding Competent & Compassionate Staff and enhancing the Patient Experience through positive collaborative engagements at ward/unit, directorate and across the wider healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Education & Training Serves as a resource to end users for information systems and technology; effectively communicates and educates on system changes, workflow process changes, new digital solutions, downtime procedures and relevant information to clinical teams Participates in delivering educational sessions to Nursing and the wider multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective use of digital systems, both at an individual user level and in large group settings, Development of training materials as required Evaluates the effectiveness of training, based on feedback from end users and system adoption Plans and engages in the performance achievement process in conjunction with line manager and staff as appropriate For more information please see attached job description.
