Job Description

**Job Summary:** The Nursing Informatics Specialist plays a key role in leveraging technology to improve patient care, safety, and experience, while promoting quality, safety, and staff competence.
The Nursing Informatics Specialist is responsible for: • Serves as a resource to end users for information systems and technology, effectively communicating and educating on system changes, workflow process changes, new digital solutions, downtime procedures, and relevant information to clinical teams. • Participates in delivering educational sessions to Nursing and the wider multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective use of digital systems, both at an individual user level and in large group settings. • Develops training materials as required. • Evaluates the effectiveness of training, based on feedback from end users and system adoption. • Plans and engages in the performance achievement process in conjunction with line manager and staff as appropriate.
The post holder will act as a link between the Department of Nursing and Information Management Services to ensure that IT-enabled technologies support the achievement and operationalisation of service initiatives and the strategic goals of nursing.
