Job Description

Servisource, on behalf of our client, is hiring an Occupational Therapy Manager. Our client is a leading private hospital, with facilities throughout Ireland.The Occupational Therapy Manager works with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and manage services that meet patient needs and support the organisation’s goals. They will ensure the delivery of high-quality Occupational Therapy services and handle both clinical and educational responsibilities as needed.The department provides services across various areas, including Medical Care, Geriatrics, Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Palliative Care, Hand Therapy, Orthopaedics, and Rheumatology.The role requires a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on management to continuously improve service quality and manage necessary changes.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Provide high-quality care to inpatients, outpatients, and day-care patients, including hands-on therapy and education.Encourage staff involvement in developing and improving the Occupational Therapy service.Help plan services and keep track of their progress.Maintain high standards of practice for both yourself and your team.Manage your own patient caseload, including assessment, planning, and treatment.Support the hospital’s discharge process to ensure smooth patient transitions.Oversee the daily running of the Occupational Therapy service, ensuring work is prioritised and staff morale is maintained.Anticipate and plan for changing needs within the service.Build strong working relationships with other team members.Respond to emergency situations when needed.Assist in discharge planning and help optimise bed capacity by completing timely discharge summaries.Ensure all patient records, treatment plans, and reports are accurate and follow service and professional standards.Communicate patient progress and treatment plans to the team and other relevant professionals.Attend meetings, such as case conferences, clinics, and team reviews, as needed.Make sure work is completed on time and follows hospital guidelines.Follow and help improve standards for quality care and outcome tracking.Seek advice and support when needed to ensure best practices.Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in line with laws and ethics.Operate within the guidelines of Occupational Therapy practice as set by CORU and the hospital.Take part in any evaluations or reviews of the service.Ensure all professional practice guidelines and quality standards are followed.Communicate with GPs and other healthcare professionals and act as a contact for patient questions.Essential Qualifications/Criteria:BSc (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent recognised and CORU validated qualification in Occupational Therapy.Minimum 5 years’ post qualification experience in Oncology & Palliative care, Elderly Care, Rheumatology, Hand Therapy, Acute Medical Care in an acute hospital setting - Of which at least 2 years should be as Senior Occupational Therapist.Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients and relatives.Have the ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.Have the ability to exercise sound judgement when faced with conflicting pressure.Have the ability to manage and lead a working group.If you are eligible and/or interested in knowing more, please send a copy of your CV to LMcEneaney@servisource.ie. #J-18808-Ljbffr
