About the Role Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in either our Glasgow or Dublin office. Travel will be required on occasion to either our Glasgow, Dublin or Belfast offices. Key Responsibilities: We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader in the Offshore Energy Analytics team, supporting SSE Renewables' portfolio of offshore wind projects around the globe during the development, delivery and operational phases. You will be part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team responsible for leading a team of analysts focussed on wind resource and energy yield assessment, project optimisation, LCoE modelling, operational wind assessment and reconciliation and other bespoke modelling services. Some of your main accountabilities will be: - Mentoring, motivating and empowering team members to perform their best work and to realise their personal development goals. - Prioritising and resourcing work requests, ensuring these are delivered to a high standard. - Taking a leading role on continuous improvement and development of our tools and processes. - Identifying and acting upon new opportunities for Energy Analytics to add value to our offshore projects and the wider SSER business. - Helping to set the team culture and strategy of the Energy Analytics team. While the location of this role is flexible within the UK and Ireland, some travel to SSE's Glasgow, Dublin and Belfast offices will be required. What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: - Extensive experience in an analytical or technical role related to wind farm development with the capability and skills to quality check and approve work of others, particularly in the field of wind resource and energy yield modelling. You will also be able to identify risks and guide analyses accordingly. - Experience in mentoring or managing team members. - Good knowledge of offshore wind development, global auction processes and industry challenges. - Ability to innovate, think creatively and problem-solve with a passion for continuous improvement. - Great communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to effectively communicate key and potentially complex issues to a wide variety of colleagues and stakeholders.
