Job Description

O&M Technician (Electrical) Location:Leinster Duration:Permanent Overview of the role: The O&M technician (electrical) will be available to assist operational sites in carrying out regular and scheduled maintenance on electrical panels and equipment, as well as providing trouble-shooting and critical repairs on equipment and panels where necessary. The role requires travel across multiple operational sites to assist in ensuring optimum plant performance and reliability. The main responsibilities will be to carry out electrical preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of panels, VSD's, motorised gearboxes and other operational equipment according to the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS). There is a wide range of equipment, and a multi-disciplinary team on site for assistance. The role will involve effective communication and interaction with management, other electrical team members, clients, and suppliers so as to ensure that deliverables and company goals are achieved. In executing the role it is paramount that Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and taken account of. Day to day of the role: Monitor and repair and replace any electrical equipment, e.g. motors, VSD's, valves and actuators. Fault finding and maintenance of pumps, motors and motorised valves Work with plant managers on fault finding and equipment repairs where necessary General Availability for response to plant failures outside normal operational hours to assist in remote assistance where appropriate Provide accurate reporting as necessary, including the use of computer maintenance system (CMMS-Pirana), monthly report data and the use of excel/word documents. Liaise and interact with the Plant Managers and General Managers; Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the plant's performance management system and the company's quality management system, safety rules, health and safety legislation and relevant environmental standards; Adhere to the company's ethical conduct guidelines and maintain a working environment which is supportive and respectful of other employees; Undertake other electrically based duties such as PAT testing, emergency lighting tests, generator tests and RCB tests. Required skills for the role: Electrical background with experience in fault finding of industrial panels Knowledge of the water treatment industry, with >3 years' experience in water treatment plants is an advantage. Experience with dosing pumps and gearboxes is an advantage. This position requires that you must be flexible and available outside of the normal working week to provide/organise immediate assistance to Plant Manager and Clients; Must be self motivated and have the ability to work in a team and/or on own initiative; Strong technical capability with attention to detail; Strong Problem solving and trouble-shooting skills; Effective time management and Communication skills.
