Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager sought to drive growth and expand customer relationships in Cork.

We are seeking an ambitious Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager to join our team in Cork. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and closing deals with new and existing clients.

This is a field-based role with scheduled office days in Cork. You will be working closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination between sales and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities and drive growth with a focus on Air/Sea services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Progress potential customers into sales.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue.
  • Set manageable weekly visit targets in agreement with the Sales Manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions using the company's CRM system.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and adhere to the company values.
  • Conduct market research and analyze metrics on competitors' products, pricing, and market success to identify new opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in sales within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of global freight forwarding (Air/Sea).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets.
  • Client account management, building, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • A full valid driver's license is required.
