Job Description

Financial Accountant role: support daily operations, manage working capital, handle reconciliations, and contribute to monthly management accounts. A key opportunity to streamline processes and drive improvements. The Financial Accountant will oversee daily banking operations, manage payments, and facilitate direct debit collections. They will also complete month-end reconciliations, prepare balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, and support the preparation of monthly management accounts. Additional responsibilities include preparing and presenting monthly KPI reports, maintaining procedure documents, and assisting in annual budgeting and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will have a recognised accounting qualification, strong analytical ability, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will be deadline-orientated, have strong MS Office and MS Excel skills, and be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Key competencies include good analytical ability, capacity to contribute to team tasks, strong organisational and administrative skills, and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities:
* Treasury & Working Capital Management:
Oversee daily banking operations and ensure all funds are processed efficiently and accurately
Manage payments to Scheme Participants and prepare and execute all banking transactions efficiently
Facilitate direct debit collection of customer refunds and ensure all transactions are processed promptly and accurately
Support daily working capital management and ensure liquidity and efficient cash flow management
Lead and participate in projects aimed at improving treasury operations and leveraging technology to automate and streamline processes
* Month-End Reconciliations:
Complete month-end reconciliations for multiple income channels and investigate and resolve any variances
Prepare and review balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and ensure alignment with business units and stakeholders
Contribute to the transition from manual reconciliation processes to a more systemised solution and drive efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate with Finance Managers and other teams to ensure reconciliation processes are standardised and aligned across the business
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs and provide variance analysis and insights to support decision-making
* Additional Responsibilities:
Prepare and present monthly KPI reports to management and ensure key financial metrics are monitored
Maintain high-quality, up-to-date procedure documents for areas of responsibility
Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and provide financial analysis and reporting expertise
Support interim and year-end audit processes and liaise with auditors as needed
Cultivate a positive working environment by ensuring professional and courteous interactions with all stakeholders
* Other Responsibilities:
Support system development and upgrades within the finance function
Assist with process improvements and the development of finance controls
Contribute to the development of internal finance portals and business partnering reporting
Support the implementation and enhancement of business analysis and reporting
Carry out other ad-hoc duties as required
