Job Description
Health and Safety Manager role requires a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure top-level health and safety standards at the Fermoy site.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and best practices in health and safety, staying updated on relevant legislation, and leading the development and implementation of all H&S policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc (Hons) in Occupational H&S or equivalent, minimum 5 years in H&S, with 3+ years in manufacturing, preferably in heavy industry, and knowledge of BS OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9000.
Key responsibilities include:
- Promoting H&S compliance and continuous improvement across the site.
- Conducting risk assessments and creating action plans to minimize risks.
- Overseeing H&S onboarding for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Training and supporting the team in managing H&S in their areas.
- Maintaining and reviewing policies to align with business needs and legislation.
- Enhancing safety awareness and collaboration across the company.
- Ensuring H&S controls are part of equipment design and upgrades.
- Regularly inspecting the site and auditing safety practices, making improvements.
- Collaborating with regulatory bodies and investigating incidents promptly.
