**Job Summary:** Permanent full-time Social Care Worker/Staff Nurse positions available in the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland West Region, providing care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. **Job Description:** The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland West Region is seeking two permanent full-time Social Care Workers/Staff Nurses to join our team at Orchard Services in Gort, Co. Galway. As a key worker, you will provide a safe and secure environment for individuals to participate in community and leisure activities, make choices, and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfils their potential and expectations. **Key Responsibilities:** * Report to the Social Care Leader/Team Leader and work as part of an interdisciplinary team * Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities * Develop and implement individualised care plans * Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other stakeholders * Participate in community and leisure activities with individuals * Maintain accurate records and reports * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care **Requirements:** * Hold a BA in Applied Social Studies/Social Care or equivalent qualification * Current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais) * RNID RPN or RGN qualification * Full clean manual driving licence and use of own car * Fluency in verbal and written English and IT skills * Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour **Skills and Qualities:** * Excellent organisational and planning skills * Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms * Creativity and initiative * Commitment to current best practice and co-operating in an interdisciplinary team environment * Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, and confidentiality * Patience and a sense of humour **Working Hours and Benefits:** * 78 hours or 75 hours a fortnight based on a 14-day duty roster * Sleep-in commitment with appropriate allowance * Annual leave: 22 days per annum (Social Care Worker) or 24 days per annum (Staff Nurse) * Pension scheme and learning and development opportunities * Paid time-off for vacation and sick days * Opportunities for advancement and career development
