Job Description

Join Citi's Risk Management team in Dublin and contribute to a global financial institution's mission to serve as a trusted partner to clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.

As an Operational Risk Senior Vice President, you will be responsible for shaping the future of risk management in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be part of a global organisation with a presence in Ireland since 1965, and will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and oversee the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimising losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Independently assess risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Governance and oversight across the portfolio of Operational Risk, for example (not limited to) technology operational risk, cyber risk, processing risk, etc.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for all performance issues that surface.
  • Issues Management (KPI/KRI/Corrective Action Plans).
  • Resolves transactional level escalations coming from the vendor or internal partners.
  • Analyses a multitude of scorecards/performance management tools and other data in an attempt to mitigate exposure (risk/financial/regulatory) and gain insights which lead to an improved risk environment.
  • Collaborates to resolve any issues which fall within the terms of the contract. Escalate those that require commercial or legal support.
  • Contributes to the design and application of Operational Risk capabilities seeking improvements and efficiency and driving through to implementation.
  • Develops and maintains relationships across the business users and Lines of Defence to better understand and deliver customer requirements by responding to changes in the internal and external business environment.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Requirements:

  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organisation and with external partners and vendors.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills; must be able to address and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of Financial Products Operational processes and technology platforms supporting the Operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience.
  • Ability to manage workload and drive execution of medium term projects and deliverables while maintaining shorter activity focus.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical skills, as the role requires a large amount of data manipulation and presentation. Expert in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Risk, Audit, Compliance experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
