Operations and Engineering Manager sought to lead day-to-day operations and engineering teams in a multinational manufacturing company.

Key responsibilities include managing operations to ensure continuous supply of products, collaborating with TPMs to optimize process efficiency, spearheading improvement projects, and building a high-performing team.

Additional duties include providing technical guidance, communicating with senior leadership, and leveraging operational excellence principles to deliver optimum production outputs.

Qualifications include a minimum NFQ level 7 qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing Science, or similar, knowledge of design control and validation in a GMP environment, and a proven track record of managing complex projects.

Job Description

Manage day-to-day operations to ensure continuous supply of products.

  • Collaborate with TPMs to optimize process efficiency (OEE & Yield)
  • Spearhead improvement projects to ensure they are properly controlled, executed, and approved
  • Build and lead a high-performing team aligned with business strategy
  • Focus on creating a talent pipeline
  • Collaborate with support functions and TPMs to maintain excellent working relationships
  • Provide technical guidance and support as part of the Eng team
  • Communicate effectively to Senior Leadership on Root Cause, Corrective, and Preventative Actions
  • Leverage operational excellence principles to deliver optimum production outputs
  • Action tactical plans to support strategic objectives
  • Generate, control, and deliver applicable financial plans
  • Establish goals and ensure best practice engineering standards are maintained
  • Develop staff to become process SMEs
  • Review and agree on engineering resource levels
  • Ensure Department quality system is implemented and maintained

Qualifications and Education

  • Minimum NFQ level 7 qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing Science, or similar
  • Knowledge of design control and validation in a GMP environment
  • Proven track record of managing and successfully delivering complex projects
  • Ability to manage cross-functional relationships
  • Experience in improvement and optimization of complex automation equipment
  • Proven problem solver with ability to set clear strategy and prioritize
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to take prompt action to accomplish objectives
