Job Description

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of company and transportation operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods to customers.

• Oversee five business units across the Transport division, ensuring optimum daily transportation activities, including route scheduling, vehicle assignments, and driver allocations.
• Manage the retention and contract renewal of the existing customer base, ensuring regular service, meeting and exceeding service levels, understanding and fulfilling customer requirements, and exploring all business opportunities.
• Maximise business efficiency through effective route, fleet, and resource planning and allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as warehousing, in-house garage, and customer service, to ensure seamless transportation operations.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve transportation efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee all commercial quotations and tender submissions for new business.
• Act as custodian of master data and training on Eureka and related transport IT software systems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in transportation management, with a strong understanding of distribution operations.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and experience with a Traffic Management System.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards, such as DOT regulations.
• IT hardware and software knowledge to liaise with the in-house IT function and external contractors.
