Cumann Lthchleas Gael (GAA) is Irelands premier sporting and cultural organization, with over 500,000 active participants and a large base of non-playing members. Role Profile Cumann Lthchleas Gaelis now seeking applications from suitably qualified persons for the role of Operations Manager, Meath GAA. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the county executive to develop the vision and strategies of the GAA within the county, (with particular focus on Commercial & Financial aspects) and for implementing short and long-term plans to achieve the Associations goals. Reporting to the Office of the Ard Stirthir of the GAA, and the County Chairperson, the Head of Operations will provide direction and leadership to management and staff and oversee the effective development of Meath GAA. Location: Meath GAA County Offices Reporting to: The Office of the Ard Stirthir. The role holder shall report directly to the Ard Stirthir, or alternatively to a manager designated by him/her, and will have a secondary reporting relationship with the Chairperson of the County Committee. Primary Responsibilities Planning Co-ordinate a rolling five year strategic plan for Meath GAA, incorporating annualised operational plans linked to the five year plan. Work with the chairperson, or other officers as directed to support the execution of the plan. Commercial Development Set out annualised commercial development strategy, including commercial and revenue targets. Manage and develop relationships with key commercial partners to maximise revenue opportunities for Meath GAA. Liaise with Treasurer to support volunteer led fundraising arm through the finance committee. Prepare commercial and legal agreements on behalf of Meath GAA, including contract for services arrangements. Manage and maximise any Grants process and/or funding applications available to Meath GAA. Market Meath GAA games programmes and coaching programmes to ensure maximum commercial benefit for the county. Financial Management Set and agree annual budgets for all Meath GAA cost centres, with a focus on the senior football and senior hurling budgets. Manage an effective and transparent tendering process for goods and services provided to Meath GAA to deliver high quality services in a cost-effective manner. Monitor and review service agreements with providers to ensure appropriate risk weighed decisions are made in the interests of Meath GAA. Provide Monthly variance reports on all budgets to the treasurer and management Liaise with the Budget Holders for each cost centre to monitor and review budget progress. Present to the finance committee, treasurer and management monthly or as required, to update on year-to-date profit and loss accounts, cost centre budgets, and budget variance analysis. Ensure the logistics policy is adhered to by team liaisons and budget holders. Human Resources (HR) Manage the overall human resources organization chart, excluding coaching & games, along with the Chair. Senior Administrator reports directly to the Operations Manager. CE scheme workers operationally report to Senior Administrator but dual reports to Operations Manager. In addition, complete any other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Chairperson or Treasurer on behalf of county committee. Essential Criteria: An appropriate qualification with at least 5 years working experience working in a management role OR Have at least 6 years experience working in a senior management role. Experience of effective financial planning, management and reporting with previous experience of ensuring close adherence to financial and legal governance requirements. Exceptional leadership and organisational skills with the ability to foster and implement effective change. Proven experience in being able to establish and deliver a strategic plan that will generate outstanding results. Demonstrable ability to develop and implement progressive marketing and commercial strategies on behalf of the county. Excellent people management skills with the ability to build and maintain strong business and team relationships and manage conflict. Excellent organisational skills with proven experience in working to tight deadlines and achieving set targets. Excellent administrative and IT skills.
