**Optical Network Engineer Opportunity** You will be working for one of the largest technology companies in the world, with an office in Dublin city centre, providing world-leading cloud technologies since 2006. **Job Description** As an Optical Network Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for building and rolling out global Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) networks. Your key responsibilities will include: • Driving the scaling of current DWDM designs to meet customer demand • Creating processes to operate and build the DWDM network • Working closely with other Networking departments on new designs • Driving operational excellence projects to improve DWDM network quality and reliability • Ensuring the DWDM network adheres to defined network standards **Requirements** • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience • Minimum 5 years experience with the rollout and maintenance of large DWDM networks and optical network technologies • Minimum 3 years experience with optical planning and modelling tools, optical troubleshooting and design • Good working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals, SNMP, TL1 or XML-based management protocols • Strong Unix skills and ability to script/program in a language • Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills **What You'll Get** • Initial 6 month contract with strong scope for extension • Competitive daily rates • Opportunity to work for a true market leader and alongside a team who are always striving to exceed expectations
