Ridgeway & Co are currently working alongside various companies operating in the energy, renewable and telecommunication sector, who are looking to recruit LE1 Overhead Distribution Linesmen paying up to £400 a day. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: * Promote Safety: Actively promote and maintain a positive health, safety, and environmental culture across the Company. * Hazard Reporting: Immediately report any hazardous conditions or unsafe situations to those in charge and maintain accurate records of all inspections and hazards identified. * Operational Duties: As a Lineman working on the Overhead Lines (OHL), you will be responsible for executing day-to-day operational tasks. * Goal-Oriented Teamwork: Report directly to your chargehand. You must be goal-oriented, a team player, and determined to succeed in all aspects of OHL work. * Task Management: Take responsibility for completing daily tasks as directed by your chargehand or Supervisor. * Team Participation: Actively engage in team briefings and toolbox talks. * Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety regulations as outlined by the Company and its clients. * Work Quality: Maintain a consistent determination to complete all work on time, meeting the required specifications. * Competence in Daily Tasks: Ensure you are fully competent in carrying out your assigned daily tasks. * Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork (e.g., permits) to ensure safe control of the network where you and your team members are working at any given time. * Technical Competence: Read and interpret switching instructions and diagrams to safely isolate and earth the Low Voltage (LV) Overhead Line Network. * Tool and Equipment Care: Properly care for all tools, equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and vehicles provided by the Company, reporting any defects immediately. * Public Interaction: Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with the public, upholding the Company’s reputation at all times. The Ideal Candidate: * Experience: * Proven track record of working on overhead line (OHL) projects. * A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Overhead Lineman. * Knowledge: * Strong understanding of OHL construction and maintenance, along with in-depth knowledge of Permit-to-Work procedures. Qualifications: * Current DNO Authorization for LV Switching: (SPEN Preferred) * Computer Literacy: Essential for job-related tasks. * Certifications: * CSCS card or equivalent is desirable
