Seeking experienced Payments Operations Manager to lead setup and management of payments function for new deposit-taking and current account provider.

The Payments Operations Manager will provide subject matter expertise in setting up and managing payments function, ensuring seamless integration of systems and compliance with financial controls and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the setup and management of payments function for new deposit-taking and current account provider.
- Provide leadership and insights to drive the success of payments function from inception.
- Ensure seamless integration of systems, optimizing for accuracy, speed, and compliance.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of payment transactions, from receipt through to backend regulatory reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments in accordance with financial controls and regulatory requirements.
- Act as primary contact for internal stakeholders, including Finance & Treasury, Business Operations, Fraud, AML, Internal Audit, and Compliance.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards that impact payments function.
- Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures for payments function.
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience managing payments functions ideally within a bank.
- Knowledge of payment systems, including SEPA, Target, SWIFT, CHAPS.
- Previous experience in banking in Ireland.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to payments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
