Job Description

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage the end-to-end payroll process for our Irish operations, covering over 150 employees across Cork and Dublin locations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization while ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services. Key Responsibilities: As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of both weekly and monthly payrolls, as well as maintaining compliance with internal and statutory regulations. Your key duties will include: Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end payroll process for 150+ employees across Ireland, ensuring payrolls are completed within set deadlines. Perform manual Gross to Net calculations as needed. Calculation and inclusion of benefits in kind, holiday pay, statutory payments (sick, maternity, paternity), and other payroll-related items. Collaboration: Liaise with supervisors and managers to review timesheets for automatic payroll upload. Work closely with the Human Resources team to handle payroll amendments, queries, and address payroll-related issues. Collaborate with Finance and Pension Advisors on pension administration, including future auto-enrolment processes. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with tax filing and reconciliation requirements, including PAYE Modernisation. Complete payroll bank reconciliations and manage third-party deductions and payments. Produce accurate payroll reports, including monthly accruals, overtime reports, and expenses. Contribute to the production of the gender pay gap report in line with legislative requirements. Employee Management: Set up new employees and process leavers on the payroll system. Handle internal and external payroll queries efficiently and oversee the expense procedure, including processing of employee expenses and managing the associated ERR with Revenue Online Service (ROS). Legislative Changes & Audits: Implement payroll legislative changes and ensure all procedures are updated accordingly. Participate in internal and external audits, maintaining high standards of payroll compliance. Other Responsibilities: Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Participate in payroll-related projects as required by management. Requirements: 2+ years experience working in a Payroll position, ideally managing multiple payroll cycles. Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation and tax regulations (PAYE, PRSI, etc.). Experience working with payroll software and performing manual payroll calculations. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems for generating payroll reports. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively across teams (HR, Finance, Pension Advisors). Strong communication skills for liaising with employees and management regarding payroll queries.
