Job Title - Payroll Officer/Accounts Assistant Reports To -WALK Financial Controller Roles Reporting -None Key Relationships & Interactions -Line managers across Residential Services, Day Service and a Social Enterprise. Job Overview A diverse role as Payroll Officer and Accounts Assistant at WALK (a registered charity), Walkinstown Green Social Enterprise Limited (a NFP organisation) and Walkinstown Housing Association CLG. Duties & Responsibilities: Payroll Leading the Payroll Process - maintaining all payroll data on the payroll system (starters, leavers, changes of data, hours, pension entitlements) for employees across all departments. Operation of MegaPay to process both monthly and weekly payrolls. Detailed knowledge of PAYE, PRSI, USC, and CSO, P30, P35 reporting and returns, experience of interfacing with ROS required. Administration of company benefits schemes including Pension, Bike to Work, Christmas club and Wellness scheme. Ensuring month end and year end payroll returns are completed accurately and submitted to Revenue and pension providers in a timely manner, preparation of payroll journals, meeting internal reporting needs, responding to and resolving employee wages queries as they arise. Accounts Payable Ensure appropriate authorisation of all invoices, posting to SAGE, and making payments to suppliers on time. Reconcile supplier statements. Dealing with queries from suppliers. Review of all credit card transactions for authorisation and documentation and posting of credit card transactions to SAGE. Accounts Receivable Posting of all invoices and receipts to SAGE. Petty cash Coordination of petty cash needs across departments and accounting for same. General Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Provide assistance to the Financial Controller as required with month end and year end processes. To undertake such special projects relevant to his/her area of work as may be directed from time to time The above is not an exhaustive list of duties but is indicative of some of the main duties the candidate will be expected to perform. Ideal Candidate Experience in a similar role. Self-starter with ability to take ownership and responsibility Experience of using payroll software. Experience of MegaPay software desirable but not essential. Experience of using SAGE accounting software. Good people and communication skills Ability to work to deadlines and multitask Excellent IT skills including experience of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Education and qualification: IATI or similar qualification, IPASS qualified. Support may be given to pursue further qualifications if deemed necessary for role.
