Pensions Lawyer The Role Our hiring partners are a leading corporate law firm with a team of over 600 professionals. They provide top-tier legal advice and representation to both Irish and international clients, primarily in the corporate, financial, and business sectors. They also work closely with government bodies, state agencies, pension funds, and educational institutions. Currently, our hiring partners are looking for an Associate to join their Pensions and Incentives Group. The Group is known for delivering outstanding legal advice across a diverse range of industries. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a collaborative team, offering the chance to advise on a broad spectrum of pension and incentive matters. Candidates interested in part-time roles will also be considered, depending on their level of post-qualification experience. Key Responsibilities: Drafting and updating pension scheme documentation. Drafting legal documents and negotiating complex transactions, with the potential to engage in contentious work. Providing legal advice on pension schemes, from day-to-day benefit queries and member complaints to large-scale restructuring projects. Advising on pension scheme mergers and reorganisations. Handling the pension aspects of corporate finance transactions. Offering guidance to sponsoring employers, trustees, and committees on compliance and interpretation of legislation and scheme rules. Advising on the creation and amendment of various employee incentive plans. Experience, Knowledge & Skills: 1.5+ years of post-qualification experience from a firm respected for its work in pensions. Strong analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Sound judgement and decision-making capabilities. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and consistently meet client needs. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail. A keen interest in maintaining, developing, and sharing legal knowledge. Education: A strong academic background. Qualified as a solicitor or barrister in Ireland or England/Wales.
