The successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of standards of operations and maintenance practices that maximises portfolio performance, setting of performance targets and ongoing monitoring and analysis.The successful candidate will work closely with the business to ensure that operational and performance processes as well as business requirements are fully understood, practised and ultimately embedded in Asset Management in Generation & Trading.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalysis of data to identify factors influencing plant performance & liaise with all generation locations on any performance issues.Prepare performance briefs for each location for LTAPs process.Calculate and analyse unit specific start-up & running Variable Operating and Maintenance costs.Development and review of unit Technical Offer Data.Interaction with Trading on outage planning & performance related issues.Portfolio outage coordination, tracking and reporting.Understanding grid code charges and penalty analysis.Prepare plant and portfolio performance reports and present them to SMT, Station Managers as well as others.Conduct station non availability reviews and setting of operational & commercial targets.Monitor and report on station & portfolio targets to relevant stakeholders.Effectively liaise with appropriate stakeholders such as Asset Performance management team, ESB Trading, Regulation and EMP.Additional activities as required from time to time by the Process & Performance Manager.Experience and QualificationsMinimum of 4/5 years' technical/operational experience.Experience in power plant/heavy industry (thermal and/or renewable) – operations, maintenance & refurbishments.Track record of achieving objectives and delivering value for the organisation.Stakeholder management and leadership skills.Strong analytical capability with an ability to use and develop large scale data systems and tools with a good knowledge of Excel functions and ability to manipulate large Excel spreadsheets.Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities along with a strong commercial capability.Flexible and self-motivated with excellent communication and reporting skills.Knowledge and understanding of generation electricity locations technical characteristics and commercial performance.Knowledge and understanding of ISEM and GB Electricity Markets.Knowledge of data analytics processes & tools.Qualifications3rd Level Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering.LocationThe successful candidate will be based at ESB Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin 2.
