Job Description

ESB seeks a Performance Specialist to drive asset management, generation, and trading performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing operational and maintenance practices to maximize portfolio performance, setting performance targets, and ongoing monitoring and analysis.

The role requires close collaboration with the business to ensure operational and performance processes are fully understood, practiced, and embedded in Asset Management in Generation & Trading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of data to identify factors influencing plant performance and liaison with generation locations on performance issues.
  • Preparation of performance briefs for each location for LTAPs process.
  • Calculation and analysis of unit-specific start-up and running Variable Operating and Maintenance costs.
  • Development and review of unit Technical Offer Data.
  • Interaction with Trading on outage planning and performance-related issues.
  • Portfolio outage coordination, tracking, and reporting.
  • Understanding grid code charges and penalty analysis.
  • Preparation of plant and portfolio performance reports and presentation to SMT, Station Managers, and others.
  • Conduct station non-availability reviews and setting of operational and commercial targets.
  • Monitoring and reporting on station and portfolio targets to relevant stakeholders.
  • Effective liaison with stakeholders such as Asset Performance management team, ESB Trading, Regulation, and EMP.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4/5 years' technical/operational experience.
  • Experience in power plant/heavy industry (thermal and/or renewable) - operations, maintenance, and refurbishments.
  • Track record of achieving objectives and delivering value for the organization.
  • Stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to use and develop large-scale data systems and tools.
  • Good knowledge of Excel functions and ability to manipulate large Excel spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with excellent communication and reporting skills.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of generation electricity locations technical characteristics and commercial performance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISEM and GB Electricity Markets.
  • Knowledge of data analytics processes and tools.

Salary: €55,700 - €65,500
