Job Description

Seeking a Person in Charge to lead a committed team in a community-based service for people with severe/profound intellectual disabilities, providing residential supports in community houses.

Our client is a non-profit organisation that supports people with severe or profound intellectual and physical disabilities, wholly funded by the HSE. The service provides community residential supports in 34 community houses in Kilkenny City and its environs, each with a different tenancy ranging from a single-person tenancy up to four people sharing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing no more than 2 designated centres, with a maximum of 5 people supported. They will be expected to advocate for empowering individuals to lead lives to the fullest, promoting a rewarding working environment and good work-life balance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a committed team with clear ethos and making a real impact in the community
  • Providing residential supports in community houses, ensuring the highest standards of care and support
  • Overseeing no more than 2 designated centres, with a maximum of 5 people supported
  • Advocating for empowering individuals to lead lives to the fullest
  • Promoting a rewarding working environment and good work-life balance

Required qualifications and experience:

  • A 3rd level qualification of at least Level 7 in Social Care or Applied Social Care Studies, or;
  • A Nursing qualification – in Intellectual Disability, Psychiatric, General or Children's
  • FETAC level 6 in healthcare management

Requirements:

  • 3 years' managerial experience in a health care role
  • Proven practical experience or similar experience in a role of this level
  • Proven knowledge and experience of HIQA Standards and Certification
  • A full, clean, manual, Irish driving licence and own transportation are essential
