Job Title: PHP Developer Location: Naas, Co. Kildare Hybrid work: 2 days onsite ?Overview: We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join our client's innovative team, where you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of high-quality web applications. - You will be responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining dynamic web applications using PHP. You will ensure your code is clean, efficient, and well-documented, adhering to best practices within the industry. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features that enhance our applications. - You will be responsible for optimizing application performance, ensuring speed and scalability, and troubleshooting issues to deliver a seamless user experience. You will also be tasked with maintaining existing systems by addressing bugs and implementing improvements. - Additionally, you will collaborate on front-end development to ensure smooth integration with back-end systems. - You will apply best practices in software development, with a particular emphasis on Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and take charge of designing and managing MySQL database schemas. Staying current with the latest technologies and trends in the industry will be essential to your ongoing success in this role. Qualifications: - Candidates should hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with at least 5 years of professional experience working with PHP. - Proficiency in PHP frameworks such as Slim, Laravel, and Symfony is required, as is a strong understanding of RESTful API design and development. - The ideal candidate will also be skilled in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a solid understanding of responsive web design principles. A strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and experience in designing and managing MySQL databases are essential. - Experience with version control systems like Git, coupled with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, will be crucial. - The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high standard of code quality is also important. Strong communication and teamwork skills are necessary, along with the ability to document processes and code effectively. While not required, familiarity with Domain-Driven Design principles and an understanding of SOLID principles in software development would be beneficial. Gazelle (Bazel) also is a nice plus.
