Plant Manager with an Environmental backgroundrequired for a leading Civil Engineering Contractor. The successful applicant will be required to manage a wastewater treatment plant in Wicklow. The Plant Manager will be involved in overseeing the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, maintaining equipment, and supervising staff. The role involves managing plant operations, optimizing processes, ensuring safety standards, and improving the efficiency of wastewater treatment processes. Role: Assist in the overall management and operation of the wastewater treatment plant. Monitor plant performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. Oversee the operation of treatment processes, including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatments. Supervise plant operators and maintenance staff, providing guidance and training as needed. Assist in the scheduling of staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage. Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development of team members. Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and infrastructure. Ensure routine and preventive maintenance tasks are completed on schedule. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair work. Analyseplant data and process performance to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Implement process changes and upgrades to enhance treatment efficiency and reduce costs. Monitor and adjust chemical dosages and other treatment parameters to optimize performance. Ensure all plant operations comply with safety regulations and environmental laws. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions for staff. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and prepare reports for regulatory agencies. Prepare and submit operational reports to the Plant Manager and regulatory authorities. Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and compliance efforts. Assist in the development and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Requirements: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science,MechanicalEngineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in wastewater management are a plus. This position requires working in both the plant and the officebased in limerick Regular exposure to hazardous conditions, such as sewage and chemicals. Availability for on-call duty during emergencies and plant shutdowns.
