**Job Summary**
Manage a portfolio of insurance products and schemes, overseeing underwriting, pricing, and performance to achieve profitability and align with market conditions and risk factors.
Reporting to the Head of Underwriting, Product & Pricing, you will be responsible for managing portfolio segments, implementing pricing strategies, and ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines for portfolio optimisation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Oversee underwriting performance and implement strategies to achieve profitability
• Develop pricing models that align with market conditions and risk factors
• Identify emerging risks and maintain underwriting guidelines in line with the company's risk appetite
• Conduct research on industry trends and competitor strategies to inform pricing decisions
• Lead the underwriting product governance process to ensure commercial products meet customer needs and maintain high-quality underwriting standards
• Provide expert underwriting leadership across the team and support junior underwriters in their decision-making process
**Requirements:**
• Strong numerical background or experience in technical underwriting
• Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, statistics, and pricing models
• In-depth knowledge of underwriting and pricing for commercial lines in Ireland
• Solid understanding of regulatory, legal, and market changes impacting underwriting, products, and pricing
• Ability to manage profitable portfolios and drive business growth
