**Job Summary**
Manage a portfolio of insurance products and schemes, overseeing underwriting, pricing, and performance to achieve profitability and align with market conditions and risk factors.
Reporting to the Head of Underwriting, Product & Pricing, you will oversee the underwriting, pricing, and performance of a portfolio of insurance products and schemes. Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing underwriting performance and implementing strategies to achieve profitability
* Developing pricing models that align with market conditions and risk factors
* Identifying emerging risks and maintaining underwriting guidelines in line with the company's risk appetite
* Conducting research on industry trends and competitor strategies to inform pricing decisions
* Leading the underwriting product governance process to ensure commercial products meet customer needs and maintain high-quality underwriting standards
* Providing expert underwriting leadership across the team and supporting junior underwriters in their decision-making process
**Requirements**
* Strong numerical background or experience in technical underwriting
* Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, statistics, and pricing models
* In-depth knowledge of underwriting and pricing for commercial lines in Ireland
* Solid understanding of regulatory, legal, and market changes impacting underwriting, products, and pricing
* Ability to manage profitable portfolios and drive business growth
