Lead Underwriter for Commercial Lines
Manage a portfolio of insurance products and schemes, overseeing underwriting, pricing and performance to achieve profitability and align with market conditions and risk factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee underwriting performance and implement strategies to achieve profitability
- Develop pricing models that align with market conditions and risk factors
- Identify emerging risks and maintain underwriting guidelines in line with the company's risk appetite
- Conduct research on industry trends and competitor strategies to inform pricing decisions
- Lead the underwriting product governance process to ensure commercial products meet customer needs
- Provide expert underwriting leadership and support junior underwriters in their decision-making process
Requirements
- Strong numerical background or experience in technical underwriting
- Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, statistics and pricing models
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting and pricing for commercial lines in Ireland
- Solid understanding of regulatory, legal, and market changes impacting underwriting, products, and pricing
- Ability to manage profitable portfolios and drive business growth
