Postdoctoral Fellowship at University College Dublin A 4-year research position with the ERC-Consolidator Grant project 'Global Capitalism and Rurality: Agency, Commodification and Socio-Ecological Transformation of the Middle Eastern Countryside, 1870-1945' **Job Summary** A 4-year postdoctoral fellowship to conduct advanced academic research in economic and environmental history, focusing on the transformation of the Middle Eastern countryside in the 19th and early 20th centuries. **About the Role** * Conduct innovative research on the processes of commodification, scientification, and mechanization of agriculture in the Middle East * Produce a research monograph and 2 articles in high-impact journals * Contribute to special issues and edited volumes * Present research at workshops and conferences * Expand international networks of the research team * Contribute to the project's social media presence **Responsibilities** * Conduct a specified programme of research under the supervision of a Principal Investigator * Engage in training and professional development opportunities * Support the Principal Investigator and research group in the design and development of the research programme * Engage in the dissemination of research results * Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research group, School, and Institute * Mentor and assist graduate research students * Carry out administrative and management work associated with the research programme
