A 4-year post-doctoral fellowship at University College Dublin for a researcher to conduct advanced academic research on the ERC-Consolidator Grant project 'Global Capitalism and Rurality: Agency, Commodification and Socio-Ecological Transformation of the Middle Eastern Countryside, 1870-1945' This is a 4-year post-doctoral fellowship for the ERC-Consolidator Grant project 'Global Capitalism and Rurality: Agency, Commodification and Socio-Ecological Transformation of the Middle Eastern Countryside, 1870-1945'. The project compares the Middle Eastern tribes of diverse origins, examining the 'capitalization' of their agriculture and the commercialization of their livestock. **Key Responsibilities:** * Conduct a specified programme of research and scholarship under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator * Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities * Support the Principal Investigator and research group in the design and development of the research programme * Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research * Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research group, School, and Institute * Take responsibility for day-to-day advice and support of graduate research students * Mentor and assist research graduate students * Carry out administrative and management work associated with the programme of research **Project Objectives:** * Produce a research monograph and 2 articles in high-impact journals * Contribute to special issues/edited volumes * Present research at workshops and conferences * Help to expand international networks of the team * Contribute to the project's social media presence **Requirements:** * Prior experience as a post-doctoral fellow * Advanced research skills and competences * Ability to develop new research skills and competences * Experience in research-led teaching * Ability to develop funding proposals * Ability to supervise and mentor graduate students
