The University excels in technology transfer, reflected by its licensing of intellectual property.As a ‘People First’ institution, DCU is committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, helping staff and students to thrive and increasing access to education.Researchers are required to participate in the DCU Research Career Framework, which provides professional development opportunities.BackgroundThe Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics is an SFI funded Research Centre, collaborating with several partner institutions to create a critical mass of over 400 researchers focused on data analytics technologies in key application domains such as Health, Internet of Things, and Sustainability.The €150m Centre is funded by Science Foundation Ireland and various industry and EU partners, addressing challenges in Connected Health and the Discovery Economy.RoleIn partnership with Etsy, the Insight Centre at DCU seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher for a project aimed at enhancing content moderation on Etsy's platform, focusing on the Content Analysis for Trust & Safety (CATS) system.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Principal Investigators (PIs) in:Model Development: Extend the CATS system by developing and implementing machine learning models.Research & Innovation: Apply neural network architectures to address challenges in content moderation.Dataset Management: Work with large datasets to ensure accurate predictions.Performance Optimization: Continuously train and fine-tune models for high performance.Collaboration: Work with Etsy's Content Evaluation Engineering team and contribute to publications.Deliverables: Contribute to project milestones and assist PhD students.Participate in Insight Centre activities and carry out administrative work as necessary.Prepare project outputs and deliver research according to project schedules.Attend and present results at project meetings.Minimum RequirementsApplicants should have a PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related area.
