Our firm specializes in supporting companies that outsource their finance functions or elements of their finance operations to us. In recent years, we have expanded our service offerings to include outsourced marketing solutions, driven by a dedicated full-time marketing executive. As we continue to grow, we are committed to enhancing our role as a trusted advisor to our clients and expanding our outsourced business solutions.Position Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Practice Manager / Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the practice, allowing the Managing Partner to focus on strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing an accountancy practice or a professional services firm, with a strong understanding of outsourced business solutions. This role is pivotal to the continued success of the practice, and it is envisaged that the successful candidate could eventually take over the practice as the Managing Partner looks towards retirement.Key Responsibilities:Operational Management:Oversee the daily operations of the practice, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and the highest quality of client service.Manage a team of 5 accountants and collaborate closely with the marketing executive to ensure seamless delivery of our outsourced finance and marketing services.Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize workflow and improve overall practice performance.Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.Client Relationship Management:Maintain and enhance strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met with the highest level of professionalism and expertise.Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, handling escalations and ensuring client satisfaction.Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell additional services to existing clients, leveraging the practice's trusted advisor status.Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and motivate the accounting team to achieve their professional goals and maintain high standards of service delivery.Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of staff to ensure the team is equipped to meet the demands of a growing practice.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages continuous learning and development.Financial Management:Oversee the financial management of the practice, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve financial performance.Ensure the practice operates within budget and meets financial targets.Strategic Planning and Growth:Work closely with the Managing Partner to develop and execute the strategic plan for the practice, with a focus on growing the outsourced business solutions.Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including expanding the client base and exploring new service offerings.Contribute to the marketing strategy and work with the marketing executive to enhance the practice's brand and market presence.Succession Planning:Take on increasing levels of responsibility with the long-term goal of transitioning into the role of Managing Partner, as the current Managing Partner looks towards retirement.Develop a deep understanding of the practice's operations, client base, and strategic goals to ensure a smooth and successful transition.Qualifications and Experience:Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in practice management or senior management within a professional services firm.Strong understanding of outsourced finance functions and experience in managing a team of accountants.Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.Proven track record in client relationship management and business development.Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving growth and innovation.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members.Experience in succession planning and a desire to take on the challenge of leading the practice in the future. #J-18808-Ljbffr
