We're looking for a Principal Data Analyst to develop advanced reporting, analytic approaches and tooling. You'll work with leaders to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and collaborate cross-functionally with business and data analytics teams.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of data and business processes associated with Chart Review, Targeting Analytics and Risk Adjustment.
- Serve as an SME on chart targeting and participate in creating integrated solutions.
- Research and develop innovative analytics and business processes to generate value for Optum and our clients.
- Lead pilot programs to demonstrate value.
- Be a hands-on data expert and provide solutions to complex operations & data problems.
- Drive short term & long term strategies for targeting analytics, chart review business process and data operations.
- Lead reengineering initiatives to modernize legacy analytics.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand new features/enhancements for the product.
- Design business processes with automation, process controls and monitoring tools to assure data quality.
- Validate data models, provide design inputs to build scalable data and analytics processes/data flows.
- Give input to reporting teams to build elegant dashboards/reports for complex analytic results.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or above in an engineering or other quantitative field.
- Experience in a health care organization, in a progressive, data centric role.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex conversations, presenting & driving decisions on complex business or data problems.
- Experience driving business and data solutions in a complex data environment.
- Extensive experience in complex data analysis with relational and non-relational (No SQL) databases, mining large datasets, including utilizing Py Spark.
- Experience working with healthcare datasets - claims, membership and provider data.
- Experience in Big data and cloud technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an SME in any health care sub domain or analytics.
- Knowledge of data architecture, ETL, data warehouse design and large scale data processing.
- Ability to navigate or present a subject at a high level as well as a detail level using data.
- Knowledge of Medicare Risk Adjustment & CMS files.
- Knowledge of reporting tools.
- Experience mentoring and leading other data analysts.
- Strong organization and collaboration skills.
