Job Description
Lead a team of engineers to develop and implement a comprehensive technical strategy for Google's internal Continuous Delivery (CD) system.
Google is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the evolution of our internal CD system. The Rollouts team develops Google's primary production deployment software, which encompasses version changes, capacity management, and configuration changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Strategy: Lead the technical strategy for the Rollouts product portfolio with an API-first approach.
- Innovation and Unbiasing: Act as an innovation and unbiasing advocate, challenging the internal products' tendency to follow the evolutionary path.
- Platform-Wide Initiatives: Partner with product leads across multiple areas to set the technical direction for the team and drive platform-wide initiatives delivering production platform solutions to Googlers.
- Integration and Collaboration: Partner across functions (e.g., Engineering, Product Management, UX, Technical Program Management) to integrate the API-first approach into all aspects of development and pave the way for future industry integrations.
