Principal Hydrogeologist
Seeking a highly skilled Principal Hydrogeologist to lead and coordinate field projects, oversee remediation works, and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
About the Role
As a Principal Hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and leading field projects, including groundwater sampling and drilling
- Overseeing soil and groundwater remediation works, such as excavation and in-situ treatment
- Ensuring Health & Safety is a core component of all stages of works
- Supporting technical and digital aspects, including field electronic data capture and data management
- Contributing to deliverables by evaluating data and writing technical reports
- Undertaking Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations, and remediation design and verification
- Maintaining knowledge of European regulatory guidance and risk assessment methodologies
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff
- Project management and technical delivery of a wide variety of projects

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualification in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology or hydrogeology)
- Ideal chartered status with IGI, Geol Soc, IEMA, CIWEM or equivalent
- Experience working in the hydrogeology industry or as an environmental consultant
- Understanding of the environmental and regulatory framework with respect to groundwater and land contamination
- Excellent technical and numerical skills, with an emphasis on quality control and logical thinking
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
